So you want to know more about our combat pants that have the same name but different versions?
We have been working on the development of our combat pants since 2021. The first version was a banger and it became very popular, but we realised that some changes have to be done to make even better, even more functional combat pants.
Since the release of the Gen.1 Neutron models we have done a lot of minor modifications like redesigning flaps / pocket covers, ankle straps, belt loops and so on.
The major modification in ergonomy was made in 2022 when we finalized the ergonomical properties of the knee protector socket and we began to make the outer part of the knees with "folds", and we also added two small loops inside the legs that are supposed to be used for the height adjustment of the knee pads placed in the pants. As we had more feedbacks and reviews, we decided to increase the size of the utility pockets to make them suitable to hold all kinds of double stack 9x19 pistol magazines and the waist circumference is now also increased by 2 cm-s for each size. This is how we got 2.1 and 2.2 models!
But what's the difference?
2.1 models have inherited the cargo pocket design from 2.0 models. Flaps with buttons and zipper closure are combined together to make it sure that closing the pockets is always possible, even when some ice is frozen on the zippers.
We know that this is not a common thing, but who knows? Nevertheless in case you are wearing Wombat Tactical clothes during hunting or wildlife observation, you are supposed to use button closure cargo pockets to maintain noiseless approach to the animals.
On the other hand we had to think about simplicity, too: 2.2 Neutron combat pants have simpler zipper closure cargo pockets that are easier to access and to open or close of course.
2.2 models also have lace hooks that are intended to fix the bottom of the pants to the boots and keep them in the appropriate position even while wearing mid-height footwear.
So what to choose?
Choose your pants according to your preference! 2.1 and 2.2 models have the same cut and ergonomical properties, so basically they are the same combat pants in a general meaning.
Their small differences however make it possible to distinguish the same model's two variants:
2.1 models are strongly recommended for military, bushcraft and hunting purpose, while
2.2 models are mostly preferred by QRF / law enforcement operators and other users who prefer easier access over double insurance.
And what about Gen.3 Neutron pants?
They are being under development and as usual: we spare no expense!
